A little more about the polish-crazy me! :D

The name of this blog?
I am a dyed redhead of many years, and  my favorite color is red.

Which brand do you own the most of?
essie... I love their colors and their formula, and their brush suits my smaller nails.

What colors do you own the most of?
Reds!  Currently over 150 reds in my collection.

Do you have a color/texture you do not own?
I used to swear off holographics and chunky glitters, but experimenting has opened me up for everything.

What is/are your favorite finishes/textures?
Jelly, it's so smooth and shiny.  Creme is a close second.  I love them both.

What's the one polish you always pick up to lift your spirits?
This answer will change often, but right now, it's Deborah Lippmann's Daytripper.

What polish do you keep looking at and wondering why you have it?
I can't for the life of me, understand why I choose to keep OPI's Alpine Snow.  But I guess every girl needs a staple white creme for emergencies and crafty uses.

Go-to Base Coat?
China Glaze - Calcium Gel Fortifer

Go-to Top Coat?
China Glaze - Fast Forward

Go-to Cuticle Treatment?
CND Solar Oil
Deborah Lippmann Cuticle Oil

Go-to Hand Lotion?
diptyque - hand balm (sucker for anything almond-ish!)
Cuccio - grapeseed oil spray
Curel hand cream (plain ol' Curel...nothing like it!)

What are your sexiest polishes?
Chanel's Rouge Noir
Jessica's Merlot
Essie's Mink Muffs
Essie's Chocolate Kisses
Revlon's Valentine

Your favorite tools are:
My OPI crystal file... it lasts *forever* and works so well
Square nail clippers
OPI cuticle nippers (only trimming the true cuticle on the plate)

What you haven't tried and want to:
JESSICA Geleration
CND Shellac

The one elusive polish you want and can't seem to get?
Chanel's Ciel de Nuit... I got a bottle that was a dud, turned out to be a bottle of acetone-filled horror that melted all the glitter.  So I'm still on the hunt for this!

Your Top 5 Brands:
Dior, YSL, Chanel, China Glaze, LAKA

Your Top 10 Colors:
Essie's Honey Bun
Essie's Mink Muffs
China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint
Chanel's Orange Fizz
Deborah Lippmann Daytripper
Chanel Jade
OPI's Banana Bandana
OPI's Comet Loves Cupid
Essie's Turquoise and Caicos
Essie's Starry Starry Night

Your very first polish:
... Chanel's Metal Argent, it was a present from my mom when I was...13, I think? I have since lost my original bottle, and I JUST MANAGED TO FIND A BOTTLE OF THIS AGAIN and I'm SO happy.

Your favorite color of All Time:
... Revlon's Valentine, 730.  I KNOW... Revlon!?  But I can't explain this red, it's very astonishing.  It's a classic and I have mad respect/a special place in my heart for it!

What is your storage system like?
I have four metal wall cabinets that open up to rows of shelves.

How long is your average self-manicure?
20 minutes

What are your biggest polish accomplishments?
Essie's Starry Starry Night
Chanel's Metal Argent
Chanel's Marilyn
Chanel's Paris Moscou Collection
Chanel's Jade
Chanel's Cherry (Thank you Pammy!)

Nail polish-related pet peeves?
Cuticle flood
Messed up single fingers on fresh manis

Thing you love about your nails?
I love them short, and how they're very small.  That just means a little polish goes a long way.  Usually a small bead of polish is enough on each nail, and usually manis that require up to 3 coats, would be fine in just 1-2 for me.

Thing you hate about your nails?
If I'm not careful, they tend to go all duck-bill on me when they get long.  Filing carefully and tenderly takes care of that problem though.

Most underrated polish?
Essie's Honeybun.  No one talks about this polish but it has my heart.
YMCK, a French brand
LAKA, an Israeli brand

Polish particulars you're crazy about?
These drive me crazy!  :D
- Night sky polishes
- Jelly red polishes
- polishes named "Ruby Slippers" - as many as there are, I have a thing in collecting them all!
- Black glittery polishes
- polishes named "Marilyn"
- polishes with a film theme
